That's right. It happened. I'm old. 31 to be exact. And I feel every second of it. I can no longer say I'm 30, because now I am officially "in my 30s."Another year gone by, and what a year it's been! Since my last birthday, I've started homeschooling, had another baby, taken on numerous projects, and have blogged. A LOT. :) I have battled with weight-loss, postpartum depression, and even almost dying after giving birth to Parker. I have seen children saved by grace, worshiped the Lord with my friends, made some wonderful friends, and have been so blessed. Through every trial, every test, and every good moment, God was there. He is so good, and He is so faithful.
When I was younger, I had big plans for my life. I was going to be a veterinarian, and live on a farm with my husband, and our 8 children - all girls. I was going to pave part of the ground on our farm and make a full sized basketball court. After all, with 8 kids, that gave me exactly enough for 2 basketball teams. (If you include my husband and myself, of course.)
While I'm not a veterinarian (I just deal with human sickness, not animal sickness... although my kids are monkeys...), and I may not have the farm (although we do have a lot of cows around here!), and I may not have 8 girls (thank GOD! What was I thinking?!), and I may not have the basketball court (yet! My life ain't over yet!), what I do have is an amazing husband, 5 beautiful children, a wonderful extended family, more friends than I can count, and a Savior who loves me. Who could ask for more?
So as I stress about the fact that I'm now in my 30s, I will take today and focus on how much God has blessed me over the last 31 years. I will wallow in His Goodness and put the self-pity aside.

Happy Birthday!! I had plans, too. I'm glad my plans didn't work out. :) Like you turning 30 was no big deal. But 31? Ack! That made me closer to 40 than 20! I'm with you on the girl/boy thing. May I mention that during that time I had a reunion for the mission team I was on that went to Mexico and we had a big Mexican feast, my sister got married (so I had rehearsal and reception dinners) and there was a big leftover party the day after the wedding and I still managed to lose weight amongst all that!

We went tubing a couple weekends ago and the spiders by the river were some of the most disgusting things I've ever seen. They were huge!

I went to Saco River last year and there were spiders in our canoe. I'm going again in 3 weeks, hope there aren't any!
