Fiber One 50 Cal Prize Pack Giveaway (8/28)

After having 5 kids, my body just isn't what it used to be. I need to lose weight, and plenty of it. But, being a mom that breastfeeds means I have to be very careful about what kinds of foods I'm eating. I still need to get lots of nutrients so that I know I'm doing the best I can for Parker.

So, when MyBlogSpark sent me a fabulous "Fiber One Healthy & Fit Weight Management" gift bag that included a Fiber One yogurt VIP coupon (that got me a free 4-pack of Fiber One yogurt), a cooler pack, and an wonderful divided plate, cup, and plastic silverware set and asked me to review the included items, I got excited!

My Review
The plate is wonderful. The divided sections are great for portion control. And I love that it's divided, because then none of my food touches! I can put my fruit, veggie, and main dish all on the same plate, put the lid on it and pop it in the fridge. Then, when it's time for lunch, I just pop the lid off and enjoy! I've been making my lunch plate the night before and storing it in the fridge until the next day. This means I'm eating lunch every day, it's healthy, and it's just the right amount to give myself (and Parker!) the nutrients we need without going overboard. I'm not skipping lunch and just grabbing a few pretzels here and there throughout the day. I'm actually taking the time to be healthy.

The cup is fantastic. I've been using it to make (and enjoy!) yogurt smoothies as a nice snack during the day. It's keeping me from eating things I shouldn't, and they taste fantastic!

The plastic silverware is just too cool. With a fork, a spoon, and a knife all on one utensil, it is perfect for on-the-go snacks. They gave me 2, and they're now the must-have items for every trip to the beach!

And then there's the yogurt. I was honestly nervous about trying the new Fiber One yogurt. After all, if it tastes good, and it's full of fiber, it has to be gross, right? That's totally what I thought. After debating (for like 5 minutes, and driving my 12 year old crazy!), I finally opted to use the coupon to get a pack of Vanilla flavored yogurt.

Oh, wow! I honestly can't believe that there are only 50 calories in each cup! They taste so good, and not at all like what I was expecting. The yogurt was creamy - no lumps at all - something the texture freak inside me loves. This yogurt gets 2 thumbs up from me, and I am NOT sharing this with my kids. :)

Here's some more information that MyBlogSpark gave me about Fiber One:
The new Fiber One yogurt is the only leading nonfat yogurt with 50 calories and 5 grams of fiber (20 percent of the Recommended Daily Value). It is also a good source of calcium and vitamins A and D, making this an all-around great choice for dieters and those watching their weight. Each cup includes the creamy, delicious taste you expect from Yoplait, and you don't have to feel guilty about enjoying it. Fiber One is available in a variety of flavors including, Strawberry, Peach, Vanilla and Key Lime Pie.
All this good stuff packed into one little container. This will quickly become a new favorite in our house. I'm just going to have to find somewhere in the fridge to hide it so my kids won't steal it. Maybe behind the broccoli?

Start reading labels- Seriously this is soooo important because if you dont know WHAT you are putting in your mouth...then you are flying pretty much blind! Its not that hard, you dont have to do math! if nothing else....count the calories!!- TRUST ME!!

  77. lilshuga2001 said...

Identify your exercise! Find the ONE thing that you absolutely LOVE doing.... Like to run, RUN, Jog? Jog! Bike? Bike! Dont pick out something that you dont like to do... OTherwise youll get bored and quit! I did....many times! Til I found TURBO JAM!

  78. lilshuga2001 said...

GET IN THE ZONE!! There’s a reason why people exercise to their favorite music - listening to external stimulus takes your mind off of the physical activity!! Works like a charm!
You think about it, jogging to 10 favorite songs, takes about 30-40 minutes! WHy not try 20 songs! :)

  79. lilshuga2001 said...

oh, ya.... Whatever you do, DO NOT compare yourself to others~ Everyone is different! We all lose weight differently! Make sure you keep your goal in sight, and do whatever you have to do to meet that goal.

  80. lilshuga2001 said...

Most importantly you need to IDENTIFY your ideal weight....look it up...Depending on how tall you are, there is an IDEAL weight. Find it - and make that your goal- now you have something to shoot for! :)

  81. lilshuga2001 said...

You have to lose AT LEAST one lb/week. If youre not losing at LEAST that much...you need to step it up a bit!
    3 lbs/week is IDEAL...
    5 lbs/week is UNREALISTIC!

  82. lilshuga2001 said...

WEigh yourself everyday at the same time EVERYDAY! Your weight will fluctuate but at least you can keep track of it daily!

  83. lilshuga2001 said...

Don’t overdo it... You can exercise for an extra hour a day for a week and still lose the same amount as you had when you were only exercising half as much.

  84. lilshuga2001 said...

make sure you get enough sleep!
    eight hours is REALLY good!
Give your body time to rest itself, both mentally and physically!

  85. lilshuga2001 said...

    Its ok to SNACK!! :)
Plus, if you starve yourself for the regular meals, you’re probably going to eat more before your brain tells your mouth to stop!

  86. lilshuga2001 said...

    KNOW YOUR CALORIE LIMIT!
That MAGIC # is half the battle! Eat anything you want all day until you hit that DAILY LIMIT!
In this sense, you’re given extreme freedom - so long as you stay at or beneath that suggested calorie level for your plan.

  87. lilshuga2001 said...

Its ok to go off track!
Dont be a hermit for the sake of your weight loss!
Just get back on track the next day! SImple as that!

  88. lilshuga2001 said...

If you crace something GO FOR IT!
Don’t deny yourself the simple pleasures.Losing weight shouldn’t be torture for anybody... You dont have to eat a whole chocolate cake to satisfy a craving....just a couple bites will do the trick!

  89. lilshuga2001 said...

    STAY AWAY FROM SUGAR SUBSTITUTES!!
If you’re given a choice, it’s almost better to go with something your body knows how to deal with (real, unprocessed sugar). No, it’s much safer (and healthier) to stay away from blue, pink, and yellow packets entirely. Do a Web search for “Artificial Sweeteners May Damage Diet Efforts.” Then sit there and tell me they’re okay?

  90. lilshuga2001 said...

White bread just isnt good for you....
WHOLE GRAIN WHITE BREAD IS WAY BETTER!!

    :)

  91. lilshuga2001 said...

Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day- They are more filling- and LOW in calories- ALWAYS A PLUS!!

  92. lilshuga2001 said...

Try keeping a food journal to log in how many calories you eat/day! :)

  93. lilshuga2001 said...

If you want something refreshing that reminds you of sweet, try low-fat yoghurt and fruit!

  94. lilshuga2001 said...

Before eating your main meal and before eating your salads try to drink a glass of water. It is certainly something that reduces the quantity to eat!!

  95. lilshuga2001 said...

Eat slowly. If you delay, you may within 20 minutes to cut your appetite or satisfy your hunger.

  96. lilshuga2001 said...

Train your stomach so that when you feel you are no longer hungry to let down the fork!

  97. lilshuga2001 said...

Aaaahh-Dinner:Try not to eat too late at night to give your body the necessary time for the process of digestion!!

  98. lilshuga2001 said...

    Keep the FRIDGE stocked!
Make sure you have many different fruits, many different low-fat milk, many salads, many sources of protein and in general a rich but carefully selected fridge!

  99. lilshuga2001 said...

The cream cheese is a type of cheese that you can enjoy without any remorse. With toasted bread can “keep you” for several hours!

Dot not get discouraged. A weight loss process is hard, requires a lot of work and takes time. Be patient and consistent and the good results will not take long to come.
