Look how adorable!

I can't get over how absolutely adorable this outfit is! Go check it out for yourself, and hopefully one of us will win it! :) (I hope it's me! Lucy would be adorable in this!!)

Downtown Holiday Jacket and Pant GIVEAWAY!!!!

What a weekend!

Things have been beyond crazy around here. I apologize for the quiet, I just feel like I can't get my head above water. I finally get things under control, and 50 other things come up that need to be dealt with "right now!" I'm hoping that getting back into the routine around here will help.

I got another baby shower item yesterday, but I've been too crazy to post. I promise to get to it tomorrow!

Don't forget to enter the Boogie Wipes Contest, and don't forget about my mega sale on designs!

More tomorrow - I promise!

Psssssttttttttt! Over here!

I'm having a HUGE sale on designs!

Thought you'd like to know!

Busy day today!

We spent today finding places to put our Virtual Baby Shower prizes so that we could pull out all of our Christmas decorations and then finally putting out all the decorations! Let me tell you, it was not easy to find a place to put all of the wonderful items that we've gotten! But, I think now everything has it's place. At least it's not all stacked on my dining room/play room/office floor!

I sent Gene out to battle the Black Friday shoppers. Since you have to drive 2 hours to find any kind of shopping around here, I just wasn't feeling up to it. BUT, Kmart was having a special on booster car seats - buy one, get one free. Both of the boys are ready to move up to boosters, so we absolutely couldn't pass this up. He got there just in time to grab the last 2 black booster seats. It's a good thing they had 2, or our boys would have been using pretty pink flower booster seats!

While he was out, I spent my time decorating. My tree is seriously lacking something this year. I'm kind of bummed about it. I'll blog more about it tomorrow, after I dig up some years past pictures, and take some of this year's tree. It's really quite sad. LOL!

Lucy is in heaven, though. Everywhere she looks in our house, there's something Christmas. She can't keep her hands off the tree, the Nativity scene, or the Cherished Teddy's train set. She also doesn't like hearing, "Lucy, don't touch!" She's really gentle with everything, though, so I think she'll be fine. Luckily, I have lots of super glue in the house, and these things have survived 3 kids before her, so I think we're safe.

Here are a few pictures I got of the kids and Parker yesterday:

Aside from the pumpkin pie poisoning, we've had a really good couple of days.

Now, if I could just get Lucy and Parker to sleep......

I TOLD him I didn't like pumpkin pie!

But he just wouldn't listen.

Gene was sitting at the table eating a piece of pumpkin pie. He has given me a hard time for years because I won't touch pumpkin pie. Every year I get the same thing, "How do you know you don't like it if you won't try it?" You know, the same line we give to our kids to get them to eat something nasty.

Well, I had enough, and told him to give me a bite. He gave me a little bite with lots of coolwhip on it. I chewed it up and told him it just wasn't sweet enough for me. Seconds later, my tongue was swollen, and my lips were swollen. I am severely allergic to walnuts, so we checked the ingredients and all it said was "may contain trace amounts of nuts." Ok, great. What nuts? Peanuts, I'm fine. Almonds, I don't like them, but I'm fine. Pecans, again, gross, but I'm fine. It appears that there were trace amounts of walnuts in this pie, or I'm also allergic to pumpkin.

Apparently, I shouldn't have taken that bite. I've been telling him forever that I don't like pumpkin pie. Maybe next time he'll listen to me!

I took Benadryl, and it's brought the swelling down. But, geez. What fun on Thanksgiving Day!

Watch out for the pumpkin pie!

Happy Thanksgiving!

As I sit here and reflect back over the past year, I have so much for which I can be thankful.
*I have an amazing husband who loves God, loves me, and loves his kids.
*I have 5 beautiful babies that drive me absolutely insane, refuse to sleep through the night, and cause all sorts of trouble, but they are MY kids, and they are 5 of the biggest blessings in my life. I'd be lost without them.
*I have an amazing family - both right next door and scattered across the country. I know that I can go to any of them any time I need them.
*I have made some wonderful friends. I have people that I can call at 3 o'clock in the morning, and they would hop out of bed and come over if I needed them. I've never had that before, and I really like it. (Not that I'm calling them at 3am, mind you, I just know I could.)
*I've got an amazing church family. People who love the Lord and it just shines right through them. They are an encouragement and a blessing every time I walk through those doors.
*I've got the assurance that I know where I'm going when I die. After years of pretending and wearing a mask, I finally gave it all over to Him and it feels SO good.

Yep. I'm one lucky girl. I will spend today with my family. I couldn't be happier.

And to make you smile, here's a Thanksgiving Hello from my little turkeys (ahem) boys:

May God bless each one of you today and every day. May His blessings surround you as you spend today with your family!

Boogie Wipes Review & Giveaway

I received a gift package from Boogie Wipes as a part of Kim's Virtual Baby Shower. Molly from Boogie Wipes asked if I would like to do a review for them. Of course I was thrilled to do so!

I received the package on Friday, and it couldn't have been better timing. Lucy's allergies have been acting up, and her poor little nose has been running for days. You gotta love the crusty gunk that gets stuck on their nose that you have to practically scrape off. Well, thanks to Boogie Wipes, there's no more scraping! Those nasty little boogies come right off, and have the most wonderful scent! The fresh scent leaves everything smelling clean and fresh - really! The grape scent really smells like grapes and is a favorite with my kids! The wipes are really soft, too, and I don't get any complaints when I wipe noses with these. Boy, is that a welcome change around here! My boys keep sniffing, pretending that their nose is running, just so they can use a Boogie Wipe!

Along with the Boogie Wipes, they also sent us a Boogie Momma and Boogie Baby t-shirt. Parker will have to grow into his, so I didn't take a picture of us in our matching shirts, but here's everything they sent us:

Look at all that stuff! And what a fun way to promote such a great company! I love it!

I am so grateful to Boogie Wipes for being a sponsor in the Virtual Baby Shower and for sending me this gift basket. It is such a fabulous product!

Want to try Boogie Wipes for yourself? Boogie Wipes has graciously offered up a gift basket to one of my readers! You'll receive a small gift basket with 2 30-count packages of wipes, a boogie mom and boogie kid t-shirt. They will also toss in some coupons and individually wrapped wipes (perfect for the purse or diaper bag!).

To enter, visit Boogie Wipes, then leave a comment here and let me know why you need some Boogie Wipes or what you learned on their site. You must leave a valid email address or a link to your blog. Today's package

Today, Parker's shoes from See Kai Run came. WOW! These shoes are awesome!! I can't believe the quality of them. Really nice, and REALLY cute! Take a look:

Go check out all the adorable shoes over on See Kai Run.

Also - tomorrow I will be hosting my first giveaway!! Make sure you stop by and enter!

Lots more stuff arrived today!

Quite a few packages to share with you today!

First, I got a diaper cake from Cutie Booty Cakes. It is absolutely adorable, and it came at the perfect time! :) It's stuffed with Size 1 Pampers, which is exactly what Parker is in right now. I can't tell you how badly we needed this to show up today! Look how cute it came packaged, and how pretty it is unwrapped:

Next, I opened the package from Silly Monkeez and found an adorable little bib. I'll be visiting their shop again, because their logo is perfect for ALL of my little monkeys! :) Look how cute:

Then, I opened a package from TruBaby. Tammy has been such a pleasure, and I just love the nursing pillow she created for me. It's made with my favorite fabric featuring the Jungle Babies. Love it!

I also got a package from Diaper Doodie. This thing is fantastic! I love the fabric, but I love the convenience even more. It's a changing pad that folds up and also holds diapers and a travel wipes case. Perfect for when you're out and about but don't want to drag the entire diaper bag around with you! Look how adorable it is:

I got the coolest Roll-n-Go Rollable Diaper Caddy, Attachables Clothing Body Suit, and Bib and Burp Cloth Set from LAF Brand. I LOVE this idea, and I love that I can wrap up everything I need in the diaper bag into this beautiful satin brocade bag. Simply gorgeous! Look:

And, last, but certainly not least, I got a big box from The Whimsical Stork. OH.MY.GOSH. I opened it up, and immediately the entire room filled with these amazing scents. Inside were the most gorgeous cupcake shaped bath bombs I have ever seen. They really look edible! I already unwrapped all of the holiday scented ones and have them lined up along my bathroom cupboard. It smells awesome in there now! They're almost too pretty to use! I also got the most adorable blanket, personalized with Parker's name. It's in a Western Print with super soft brown minky on the back and where it's personalized. This is quickly becoming one of my very favorite blankets. She's also sending some personal "mom" cards for me, and I'll let you know when those arrive. But, here's what she sent that came today:

A HUGE, HUGE thank you to each of these sponsors. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love everything!!

You won't believe the grab I just got!

I am not kidding. If you are not a member of MUIB Trading Post, you need to be!

I just grabbed a TIFFANY & CO necklace for $40. TIFFANY. For $40! Did you hear that?

I got this necklace:

For only $40 worth of credits!

Right now there are COACH purses listed, along with about 12 pages of other items.

If you haven't joined yet, you NEED TO! You won't be sorry!

PS - Tell them I sent you! :)

Lazy Days

I love a nice, quiet Saturday with nothing to do. Well, I shouldn't say *nothing* exactly, since I have about 15 loads of laundry, and a bunch of stuff to make for tomorrow's Thanksgiving dinner at church. BUT, I had nowhere to go, and no reason to get all dressed up. I love a day where I can get a shower and just put my pjs right back on. :)

I did do another custom blog design today. You can see it here. I met Michelle through the MUIB (Moms United in Business) Trading Post. It's an AWESOME place where you can clean out your closets and get cool stuff from other people. I'm always offering design services over there, along with other things.

And, right now, the Trading Post is having a referral contest. To qualify, simply join Mom's United in Business Trading Post on the Grab and Swap group, join the Yahoo group, and enter your information, post a minimum of 4 items that you would like to clean out of your closet, and start referring! It's that simple.

The person with the most referrals at the end of the day on Nov 26th, will receive our Mystery Gift Package, currently at a value of approx $100.00. This prize package includes one diamond ring, one Pink Ice ring, a $25 gift certificate from Diamond M Sales and a catalog, and Avon products.

Go join! Quick!

Swaddle Designs - an amazing gift

This afternoon, UPS brought a package from Swaddle Designs. I was surprised because the box was pretty big, and I was only supposed to get a blanket, lovie, and burp cloth set. When I opened the box, there were a bunch of items in there, along with a card.

I read the card, and tears started streaming down my cheeks. Lynette had read our story and decided that we needed more blankets, burp cloths, and that each of the other kids needed a lovie. Here's what she sent: (minus Zander's lovie. He was snuggling his so tight, I couldn't get it away from him while he was sleeping!) Oh, and I'm not sure why the picture turned out blue. I used my cheap digital camera and it came out all funky. The stuff is gorgeous in person!

The kids all adore their lovies. Lucy held on to hers all evening and is snuggling with it in her crib now. Ashley loved how soft it was and immediate laid it on her pillow, all nice and neat, so that she could snuggle with it. The boys had a BLAST throwing them around the room, wrapping up Batman, Gi Joe, and anything else they could find, and seeing how many things they could cover up with them. They both went to bed with them and haven't let go. (Except for Jace - just long enough for me to take a photo!)

Lynette's kind words and her amazing generosity are overwhelming. And her products are AMAZING! The blankets are so soft, and I love that they have the swaddle instructions sewn into them. How cool is that? Parker is a baby who HAS to be swaddled. If he's not, he doesn't sleep well, and he's just miserable. The burp cloths are fabulous, and definitely something I'll gladly show off. :)

Lynette, if you read this, I just want to thank you again. This means the world to me, and I just adore everything you sent... we all do! I hope that someday I can bless someone as much as you have blessed me.

Please take a moment to check out Swaddle Designs. You won't be disappointed!

Today's packages....

Today, I received 3 packages. However, for reasons you will soon understand, I am going to do them as 3 separate posts.

I received packages from the following sponsors: Boogie Wipes, Swaddle Designs, and Petit Baby. Boogie Wipes has asked me to do a review and a giveaway, so I'm going to use the stuff they sent over the next few days and will post my review and giveaway on Monday. Swaddle Designs went above and beyond, and I want to make sure they get proper recognition for their amazing kindness and generosity. (Let me say that it was extremely generous of every single sponsor to send any item, and they are ALL so appreciated. Please don't misinterpret what I'm saying. I am so grateful for everything.)

Here is the absolutely ADORABLE bear and discovery box from Petit Baby:
I opened this right away, and the bear caught Lucy's eye. She has officially stolen it from Parker and now drags it all over the house. She loves it! And, I'm putting the discovery box away and will wrap it as a Christmas present for Parker. It's perfect!!

I also wanted to show off the reusable bags I got in the large box from Kim:
From Green World Bags, 4 gorgeous reusable bags:
From SKN - 1 reusable bag:
From One Bag at a Time, 5 fabulous reusable bags:
From Rume - 3 awesome reusable bags: (These are already in the diaper bag. Perfect for messy clothes that you need somewhere to put!)
And, from Lucy Crow, 3 awesome reusable gift bags: (The sock monkey bag ROCKS!)
Really great stuff, and now I can take all of these bags to the grocery store and not end up with a bazillion of those stupid plastic bags. I love it!!

3 Kids and Us is having a fun contest!

Cat over at 3 Kids and Us has teamed with Lucky Me Tee and is offering one *lucky* mom a long sleeved t-shirt with her favorite saying on it. I love the Mommy of 5 shirt, and would wear it proudly!

Lucky Me Tee doesn't have just t-shirts, either! They have tanks, baby tshirts, tote bags, sweatshirts and more. Really cool stuff for anyone who is proud to be a mom!

Head over to 3 Kids and Us right now and enter for yourself.

Can you believe it?

I didn't get any packages today! Not one! LOL! I've been spoiled so much over the past few days, though, so I can't complain!

I'll use this post to showcase some more of the items that came in the big box from Kim.

First, a whole bunch of MAM bottles. Before Kim's contest, I honestly had NO idea that MAM even made bottles! We've always used their pacifiers. In fact, MAM pacifiers were the only pacis that Zander, Jace, and Lucy would take. Parker's not crazy about pacis, but if I do get him to take one, it's a mam. These bottles are AWESOME. The nipples are the softest silicone I've ever felt, and because they're just like the pacis, Parker doesn't have a problem taking them. Hallelujah! Finally, a bottle that this child will take! Oh, and the colors rock, too. I'm in love with the orange!

2 little toys from Sassy. These will be perfect for Parker very soon. I plan to use them as stocking stuffers! Adorable!

A teethifier. Now, why didn't anyone think of this sooner? What a great way for kids to chew on something while cutting those back teeth! I love it!!

An OnTray container from Let's Go Strolling. I am really looking forward to testing this baby out at the grocery store the next time I go. It'll be a nice way to keep Lucy occupied!

Smart Mom Jewelry. I LOVE this idea!! I wish I had had this with all of my kids! The kids can actually chew on this jewelry and not hurt it - it's made for them to chew on!! Looking forward to using this when Parker starts teething!

A bath luve. I used this during Parker's bath tonight, and he really loved it. The warm luve on his belly calmed him down instantly, and he took a nice long soak tonight. Perfect! And, it's a duck! Love that! :)

BUTTPASTE!!! We love buttpaste in our house. It works so great on the nastiest diaper rash. Love, love, love this stuff!

Soft blocks from Sister Sue. She makes some really cool stuff. Go check out her etsy store. The blocks are AWESOME. I love the fabrics! They are perfect for Parker!

I also got a 6 month trial of Baby Insights and Baby Say Cheese from BabbleSoft. I've already played around with it and I love it. I've discovered that Parker does indeed have his days and nights mixed up, and that in the early morning he tends to nibble rather than really eat a lot. You can learn SO much from this amazing site. It's so cool!

Again, thank you to all of these sponsors! These gifts are truly amazing!!

There are still a few more things that came in the box from Kim. I'll get to those tomorrow! :)

Doctor appointment for me today!

I had my 6 week check up today. I can't believe it's been 6 weeks already!!

Everything looks great. My blood pressure was well in the normal range, so she's taking me off the meds until December 16th when she'll check it again. I also have to have a mole removed on the 16th. She thinks it's nothing to worry about, but would rather be safe than sorry.

I ended up getting the Depo shot for birth control. Since my insurance is up next month, and Gene is planning on getting snipped anyway, that gives us 3 months to "play" with. I've never had the shot, so I'm hoping it's not too bad.

I asked her if we could put Parker on the scale today. We did, with all of his clothes on, and he weighed 8 pounds 12 ounces! So, even if we had taken his clothes off, he'd still be about 8 pounds. Awesome!! The little guy is growing like a weed!!

I'm taking Lucy to the "Kissmas" store in town in just a bit. I'm sure I'll have more to talk about after that! :)

More Packages!

Here's what arrived today!

A nursing pillow from My Brest Friend. They sent me the deluxe pillow in blue and an extra slipcover. I've already used the pillow a bunch of times and LOVE it! Nursing hurts my back SO badly, and this has really eliminated that pain. I LOVE that the pillow is big enough to rest my arms on, and it goes all the way around me to help keep my back straight. I am hooked on this, and wish I had had one for all my kids - breast or bottle fed!

An adorable winter monkey onesie and matching hat from Lil' Cubby. It is just too cute!! I can't wait to get Parker in it in the next few weeks and show him off! And, of course, show lots of pictures on here! It's still a bit too big, but he'll be in it in just a few weeks, I'm sure! Here's the set:

An organic Blue Elephant crib sheet from Wild Dill. It's just adorable! And it's so soft! Parker will love sleeping on this when he moves up to the crib! :)

And, here are a couple of items that arrived in the BIG box from Kim:

An absolutely adorable baby tutu from Baby Cha Cha. I've already found a new home for this, as I just don't think it'll work for Parker. I do hope that it will make it's new owner smile, though, and appreciate the chance to pass it on to another mom in need. I did want to show you all how cute it is, though!

A Sandy's XSm Cloth Diaper, Liner, and AirFlow cover from Mother-ease. I really like this one. It's still a bit too big for Parker (he has NO waist or butt! I can't keep it on him!) but it should fit him soon. I'm totally digging the jungle print on the cover. Isn't it adorable?!

A diaper bag by Amy Michelle. LOVE this bag. I am SO excited that this is one of the prizes! I'm putting everything in it so that I can show it off tomorrow at my doctor's appointment! :) I sent my husband to the store to buy a diaper bag because I broke the zipper on the one my friend sent me. Anyway, the man comes home with a DUFFLE BAG - totally not a diaper bag. Can't trust a man to do anything. BUT, now that I have this bag, there are no more worries! It's trendy, big enough to fit all my stuff in it, AND my husband doesn't mind carrying it around! Fabulous bag all the way around!

Again, please go check out these sponsors. They've all got some awesome items available on their websites!!!

Bumkins Blog Tour: My Review

I have been a fan of Dr. Seuss for as long as I can remember. His books were some of the first that I learned to read, as well as some of the first that I've helped my own children learn to read.

So, when I was contacted and asked to do a review of Bumkins new Dr. Seuss line, I gave an enthusiastic "Yes!"

They sent me the Dr. Seuss Footed Sleeper. I absolutely love it! I tried it on Parker, and while it's still a little big, it's definitely something he can grow into. It is made of super soft cotton, and has Thing One and Thing Two all over it. It snaps closed, and the snaps actually stay together! I've had so many outfits in the past where I'd get it snapped, pick up the baby, and 3 snaps would come undone! Not with this outfit, though. It really stays put!

Here's Parker in his new little sleeper:

Like I said, it's still a bit big, but not really - even with as tiny as Parker is. Because he's so long and skinny, I have a hard time finding clothes that fit him. This is long enough and still has room for him to grow into it. It's not something he'll wear once and then grow out of!

Right now Bumkins is offering a free gift AND a chance to win! With any Bumkins Dr. Seuss Purchase receive a Free Grinch Superbib and automatically be entered to win a four pack of Dr.Seuss How the Grinch Stole Christmas Ornaments! Just enter grinch08 at checkout to receive your complimentary bib.

Bumkins also sent me a bib and an ornament along with the sleeper. The bib is adorable. It's nice and big, waterproof, and features a great little pocket crumb catcher on the front. Plus, it has a nice long soft velcro strip so it will fit kids of different sizes. AND, there's no way anything could soak through the bib and ruin the clothes underneath. Definitely looking forward to using this bib next Christmas when Parker's eating food. It will certainly come in handy!

My husband went crazy over the ornament. We're big fans of The Grinch, and the ornament is super high quality. My two year old decided it was a "ball" and threw it across the room. (SIGH) You'd never even know it, though, to look at the ornament. It didn't harm it a bit. Toddler proof ornaments - just what our household needs!! The bib and the ornament both feature characters from the Grinch and are in the signature green color. Absolutely adorable! Here's Parker in his sleeper with the bib and the ornament:

Head over to Bumkins today and check out all of their products. They are high quality, a great value, and absolutely adorable! PLUS, you get a free bib and a chance to win 4 super cool ornaments!

Oh, and now I must have twins just so I can get them these. Now to convince my husband.... ;)

Another big milestone around here!

Zander has his first loose tooth. It just doesn't seem possible that he can be old enough to have one, but he does!

He was eating an apple today, and he started crying. Now, Zander is my drama king, so this is nothing abnormal. Then he started saying, "I bit my tooth! I bit my tooth!" When I explained that it's not possible to bite your teeth and asked him if he bit his tongue, he said no and kept insisting that he bit his tooth.

I took a look inside his mouth, and sure enough - one of the bottom front teeth is loose!

My baby's growing up. I'm going to be a basket case when he actually loses it!

Wordless Wednesday: The World's Smallest Sundae

Taken by my friend Jewels in Chicago, March 2006 at Ed Debevic's - my absolute favorite restaurant - EVER.

Now, go check out MomDot's WW.

I WANT THIS!

Custom Camera Strap GUEST GIVEAWAY!!!!

Take a look at that link. I am absolutely, positively in love with these!

I ended up taking my camera strap off because it hurt my neck so badly. I would love to have one of these just so I can put the darn strap back on!

What an awesome idea. I'd love to win it, but if I don't, I'm asking hubby for one for Christmas!

The cookies were a hit!

Ashley happily passed out the fresh baked cookies to the Fed Ex and UPS drivers and thanked them for coming down our driveway so much lately. They were both very kind and thanked her sincerely. Our cranky mailman didn't come down the driveway today, so he didn't get his cookies. We'll give them to him on his next trip down.

Anyway, I got a plethora of gifts today! One was a box from Kim that had over $500 worth of prizes in it. The prizes are from 17 different sponsors, so rather than post them all in one big, long post, I'll break them up over several posts.

Here are the prizes that weren't in the box from Kim and arrived separately:

First, a baby shower from Green Nest. I can't wait to give this a try! The shower head removes Chlorine, dirt, and odors from the water. There is also an interesting fact about chlorine on the box that I didn't know. It says: "Chlorine is universally used to control bacteria in water and chemically bonds with the proteins in the body, causing dry skin and hair, eye irritation/redness, and other health concerns. Chlorine is not only absorbed through the skin but vaporizes in the shower or bath and is inhaled directly into the lungs." I had NO idea. Go check out greennest.com - they have TONS of really cool items on their website.

Second, we got a covered travel wipes case from "Made by Angie." I LOVE the fabric on this. She calls it the "Funky Monkey." Too cute!

Third, we got a set of shampoo, conditioner, deodorizer, diaper rash cream, and moisturizer from Nature's Baby Organics. Oh my gosh. It smells absolutely divine! I selected the Vanilla Tangerine scent, and it smells like heaven an orange creamsicle. Mmmmmm. I'm going to try this out tomorrow at bath time. I can't wait!

Again, I have about 17 more items to post, but I want to make sure that each of the sponsors get seen. I'll be breaking the next batch up over the next few days! Please take some time to visit the sponsors that interest you. It's the least I can ask after all they've given to me!

I survived the grocery store!

Now,to many of you, that may not sound like something to brag about. But, how many of you have taken FIVE children - ages 11, 5, 4, 2, and 5 weeks to the grocery store at one time, and had to stock up on EVERYTHING because your cupboards were bare? That's what I thought. I'm going to go right ahead and brag away! :)

It took me pushing one cart (with Lucy in the seat, and Parker's carseat in the back, and Ashley pushing the other cart to fill with food. Parker got fussy and decided he wanted to eat, but refused the bottle that I had brought along. (Of course!) So, I had to hold him AND push the cart through the aisles crowded with old people... all while trying to remember exactly what I needed to get.

I ended up forgetting quite a bit of stuff... no lightbulbs, no trash bags, no dishwashing detergent. And, I bought the stuff to make meatloaf, except I forgot the meat! AND, I bought the meat to make chili for a friend who is having surgery, BUT, I forgot all of the crap that goes IN the chili. Yeesh. But, I made it back to the car with $200 less than I had to start with, and all 5 kids. (Is it just me, or did groceries get REALLY expensive? That was almost an entire week's paycheck!)

The nicest thing happened, though, when I got in line. The little old lady in line in front of me asked me if they were all my kids. I said yes, and she went on and on about how wonderful that was, and how great it is to have a big family, and how she wished she had had more. Let me tell you how NICE that was to hear! Usually I hear, "Are you crazy?" or "Are you done yet?" things like that. Actually being complimented on my big family (and how good my kids were) was quite a welcome change. I wish more people would be so accepting!

I'm making hubby bring home all the stuff I forgot when he leaves in the morning. I don't think I could handle all 5 in the grocery store by myself 2 days in a row!

In other news, Parker took a bottle!!!!!!!! I found some inexpensive preemie bottles on line and decided to give them a try. (He gags himself on every kind of nipple that we've found.) Well, I warmed up some "mommy juice" and put it in the preemie bottle, and he sucked that baby dry! Thank the good Lord above, because that means I will actually get a break once in a while now. Yippee! I'm so glad I decided to try the preemie bottles. Still can't get him to take a pacifier, but we'll work on one thing at a time. :)

It's like Christmas at my house!

My mailman isn't very happy with me. I have the cookies baked and ready to go. Maybe if I give them to him tomorrow, he'll forgive me for making him come down my driveway every day for the past week. If not, oh well, because I'm having WAY too much fun! :)

He brought 7 packages to my house today. Not all were Virtual Baby Shower gifts, but there were still 7 packages total that he had to deal with. Sniff, sniff. I feel so bad for him. HA! Oh, and Danielle - I got the sleeper and the other coupons today! Thank you so much!!

Ok, now, let's get onto the details of what I got today. :)

First and foremost, I GOT MY DOUBLE STROLLER!!! Yes, I am shouting, because I am thrilled to death about this!! As soon as hubby woke up this afternoon and saw the box in the living room, he just had to open it up and put it together. It took less than 5 minutes to set up, and we both just love it! (He thinks it's so cool that it has the actual military camouflage fabric.) I just love that it's a double stroller, and I can confine TWO kids in it. :) Lucy loves the stroller, too, and all night long, she kept hopping back in "Lulu's seat." Here are a couple of pictures - the first is of the stroller with our carseat attached to it, and the second is Lulu sitting in her seat:

Thank you SOOOOOO much to Joovy for such an awesome, awesome prize. I'll post more photos once we get to take this baby for a test run! (Praying for nice weather tomorrow - wink, wink!)

Next, we got our Ergo Baby Carrier. I'm also really looking forward to trying this out! I love the versatility of it - how you can wear it on the front, back or hip. Awesome!! I would like to try and get the Infant Insert, though. With as little as Parker is, I think we're definitely going to need it.

We also got our hat/shades set from Baby Banz. I couldn't resist trying the shades on Parker. They're still a little big, but he'll grow into them! :)

Our Isabooties also arrived today. We went with the Graphite Racers, and they're even cuter in person than they are on the web. Just adorable!

And, we also got a pair of "My first shades." These are also just a bit big for Parker, but I have no worries about him growing into them. And, it's ALWAYS nice to have 2 pairs of sunglasses. I'm notorious for leaving a pair at home when I need them.

Thank you, again, to each one of the sponsors! You all totally ROCK!

Yesterday's packages

Sorry! I meant to get these up last night, but we went to Walmart and that turned into a 5 hour ordeal! No joke.

Anyway, here are the wonderful prizes that the super-nice mailman brought to my door:

First was a teddy bear from Critters who Care. They send the stuffing and the Birth Certificate with the bear. The bear is ultra soft, and this is definitely something we'll be doing (as a family) for Parker. I'm going to make little "wishes" for the kids to each kiss and make a wish on, and then put them inside the bear when we stuff it. Look how cute it is:

Second, there was a pair of little brown puppy shoes from ShooShoos. I absolutely love these!! I tried them on Parker, and his foot is still a bit too small, but I can't wait for him to grow into them. Go check out shooshoos! I like them better than Robeez, and their prices are a whole lot better than Robeez, too!

Third, I got a satin headrest from Sharmooz. It is so soft and I love the rubber backing so the headrest stays put. They have tons of great designs, but we're partial to zebras and other jungle animals in this house. :) Look at the pretty headrest they sent:

Last, I got 2 bibs from DaBib: an infant bib and a toddler bib. I took these out of the package, and they are fabulous! The infant one is perfect for when Parker spits up. It absorbs it all and doesn't soak through to his clothes underneath. I love that! The toddler bib is awesome. It's so easy to wipe clean, and nothing soaks through it! The best feature is the "Crumb catcher pouch." It's attached to the back of the bib and folds out when you need it. That means that when you fold it back, no crumbs get stuck in the seam. Love that!! Here are the bibs we got:

Again, please take a minute to visit these sponsors. I appreciate their generosity and hope you'll check them out!

Lucy's Newest Obsession

We rented a couple of movies the other night. We usually get one for the grown ups and one for the kids. We decided to rent Barbie in a Christmas Carol for Lucy. When our 5 days were up with the movie, you would have thought the world ended. You ask Lucy what she wants to watch and the answer is still "Barbie Kissmas." If she sees a Christmas commercial on TV, it's automatically "Barbie Kissmas!" Heck, if you ask her to say "Merry Christmas," it comes out as "Barbie Kissmas!" I can't get over how much she loves Barbie!

So, when I saw that Momsational is having a giveaway for Barbie and the Diamond Castle, I just had to enter. Lu would LOVE this!

Well, crap. The giveaway is over. Should have looked at that first. Duh.

Also, I received 4 more packages today, but haven't taken photos yet. I'll try to get them up on here tonight. Oh! And I must say that our weekend mailman is much nicer than the grumpy guy we usually get. I'll have to leave the cookies for the mailman on a Saturday so the right guy gets them! ;)

Dressy Dribbles - My Review

Today I received the Car Seat Cover from Dressy Dribbles. I have to tell you, I was SO excited to see that this was one of the prizes in the Virtual Baby Shower!

I first saw Dressy Dribbles on MomDot.com in a giveaway. I tried so hard to win it, but didn't. I then made sure to bookmark Dressy Dribble's website so that I could figure out how to save up enough money to purchase an infant carseat cover. The one that won my heart was the Rock Star design. All the designs are beautiful, but something about the camo and the orange just makes my heart skip a beat.

When I got the package today, there was an added surprise! Jennifer from Dressy Dribbles had thrown in the matching blanket. I immediately opened it up and I was blown away with how soft it was! I sat the box on the floor to email Jennifer, and Lucy walked over to the box. She "pet" the blanket for 10 minutes just saying over and over, "So soft, mama. So soft." I'm thinking she likes it, too!

I read the enclosed directions on how to install the carseat cover. Talk about easy! In less than 5 minutes, we went from this:

TO THIS:

I absolutely could not believe how easy it was to put on! This will be perfect when the cover gets dirty and needs washed. No fuss at all, just snap off, wash, and snap back on! I wish I had had one of these for all of my kids!

Look how snuggly Parker looks in there:

It was so soft and warm in there. He never made a peep the whole time he was in it, and the entire time we were out and about tonight.

Here are a few more pictures:

While we were out tonight, I had 5 different people comment on the cover. It's just that nice. Jennifer, send me some business cards. I'd love to pass them out whenever anyone asks about the cover!

I love, love, LOVE this car seat cover, and recommend Dressy Dribbles to anyone who has an infant or toddler in a car seat. (They make toddler covers, too!!)

I'm definitely going to be shopping with Dressy Dribbles again in the future. I'd like to get a cover for Lucy's seat, and Parker will need a new one when he moves up to the toddler car seat.

A HUGE thank you to Dressy Dribbles for offering this as a prize, and for the matching blanket. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your kindness and generosity! You've got an amazing product, and I'll gladly be telling everyone I know to go get one for their kids!

4 more packages & Show & Tell Friday

Four more packages arrived at my house today. 2 by mail, 1 by Fed Ex, and 1 by UPS. My driveway was a happenin' place today! :)

I'm going to post about 3 of the packages in this post, and one in another post because the company asked me if I would do a review for them.

Before I get to any of that, though, I want to share my photo for Show & Tell Friday:

That's a Jones Soda bottle - with Zander on it! I had sent that in a few years ago, and forgot all about it. A few months later, I got a letter in the mail from Jones Soda congratulating me on having my picture printed on the bottle. They told me to have fun searching for him in stores!! We ended up finding him all over the US, and even in Canada! I ended up with about 12 bottles. The grandparents all got one, so I ended up with 8 still here. I think it's a cool keepsake that Zander will have when he gets older. :)

Now, on to the other good stuff. The packages that arrived today!!

The first thing that arrived was the car seat cover from Dressy Dribbles. I'll post about them in a new post.

The second thing that arrived was the gorgeous pillow and diaper stacker from Carousel Designs. The back of the pillow is SO soft (brown minky) and the design on the front and on the diaper stacker is just beautiful. Thank you so much, Carousel Designs! I just love this!!

Next, I got the Horse 'n Around Bib and Burp Cloth set from CudleeBee. It's adorable! I love the vintage look to the horse design, and the chenille backing makes it absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much, Cudleebee! I adore this set!

I also received a blanket from Moomette's Magnificents Olde Towne Shoppes. It's a gorgeous green satin with Dragonflies all over it. It's almost too pretty to use!! The back is super soft, and it's really such a pretty blanket! Thank you, Moomette's. You did an amazing job on this!

I really need to make my mailman, my Fed Ex Guy and my UPS driver some cookies or something. Our driveway really isn't the easiest to come down... especially on rainy days like we've had the last 2 days!

Please take a moment and visit these sponsors. They were kind enough to donate these items, and I'd really love for you all to check out their wonderful products!

I really do have the best husband!

For the past 2 weeks, Parker has had his days and nights completely mixed up. Try as I might, he won't stay awake during the day, and when 11pm rolls around, he's bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready to face the day. He snoozes here and there from midnight to 4 am and then finally starts sleeping really well about 5. Then, Zander and Jace are up at 7.

Needless to say, I've not gotten much sleep at all this week. It's made me cranky, emotional, and just not nice. So, this morning, hubby got home around 5 - just in time for Parker to fall into his deep sleep. Gene told me that HE would get up with the boys and I could stay in bed.

And he did. He got up, got them breakfast, did the dishes, cleaned up the living room, and took care of everyone so that I could sleep. I didn't get up until 10am.

He might drive me crazy, and he might not like my haircut, but he really is a great guy. I'm one lucky lady. :)

Another package and inconsistant internet service today....

Another prize arrived today! UPS arrived this afternoon with a pack of 5 cloth diapers from Fuzzi Bunz.

Oh.my.gosh. I cannot believe how SOFT the inside of these diapers are!! The colors are beautiful, but the inside is so amazingly soft! We've had a horrible time with disposable diapers sticking to Parker's butt whenever he poops. I don't think we'll have that problem with these.

Now, I am completely clueless when it comes to cloth diapering. I have 5 kids, and I have only ever used disposables. Luckily, I saw on Fuzzi Bunz's site, that they have TONS of information on how to use them, how to wash them, etc. Thank heavens!!

I can't wait to give them a try! And thank you to Fuzzi Bunz for offering up this prize in the virtual baby shower. I appreciate it so much!

Sorry I've been scarce today. It has rained here ALL day, and a cloud in the sky means no internet service for me. I have another year and a half in this internet service contract, and I'm praying that by the time it's up, they offer cable internet in our area. (It stops 1/4 of a mile from our house!) Rain outside also meant the kids were stuck INSIDE all day. I cannot wait until Ashley gets back, because these boys really are going to send me to the psych ward.

First box arrived, new hair cut, and more!

My first package from the Virtual Baby Shower contest arrived today. I received 2 boxes, both from Glow Mama.

Inside the first box, there was a set of martini glasses, a martini shaker, straws, glow mama kiwi juice, and a book full of concoctions to try. The second box was completely stuffed full with more glow mama juice!! Look... I'm not kidding!

Now, only once in my life have I ever had an alcoholic drink, so I'm hoping I'm not too clueless to operate this and try these yummy-sounding concoctions! :)

A HUGE thank you to Glow Mama for ALL of this wonderful juice and everything else that came with it. I can't wait to give it a try! :)

And, in other news, I chopped off my hair today! Hubby HATES it. He always hates it when I cut my hair. Oh well. It'll grow back, and then he can hate me again in another 6 months when I chop it all off again. The man drives me nuts. Of course, he'll tell you that I drive him nuts as well. Part of a good marriage, I think.

Here are before and after pics... taken by me with my cell phone, so they're definitely not the best. Of course, the fact that I'm 75 pounds overweight doesn't really help much, either... But, here you go:

Hubby will get used to it. I think it looks a whole lot better than it did!

AND, my children are driving me crazy. Literally. Lu, JJ, and Z have all acted like the devil today, and I am at my wit's end. I've gotten nothing accomplished that I wanted to today, and I have cried so much because I am so tired of them not obeying. I really don't know what to do. Any advice on how to keep from pulling my hair out? I have a list of things that don't work with them. Anyone have the magic secret that DOES?

Wordless Wednesday: Flashback.... WAY Back!

That's me. I think I was about 4 years old. My daddy took this picture down here in GA in front of my Grandpa's tractor. I need to get Pa to pull out his tractor and take a picture of each of the kids in front of it.

Now, go visit MomDot and see more great WW posts.

The Magic of Macy’s at Christmas

This holiday season, Macy’s is asking America to Believe. Macy’s wants everyone - from the most enthusiastic to the most cynical- to Believe in and embrace the holiday spirit of love and charity.

Writing letters to Santa Claus is an age-old Christmas tradition for children all over the world. Macy’s is collecting these letters in a special Santa letterbox at all Macy’s stores. For each letter received, Macy’s will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Believe Meter will measure America’s belief, based on our collective spirit – including the amount of letters received and other current events that reflect the season’s generosity.

Please stop by your local Macy's and have your children drop off their letters to Santa, and ask your friends to do the same.

By coming together, we can all make a difference in the lives of children through Macy's generous spirit in donating to the Make a Wish Foundation.

Pledging to buy Mom-Made Gifts this year!

I found this banner on Thoughtfully Simple, and thought it was a FABULOUS idea! Our Christmas will not be a big blowout shebang this year since we don't have the funds for a bunch of gifts. However, I want the gifts we DO purchase to be mom-made or come from mom-owned shops. With the economy the way that it is, I want our money to go to my friends and fellow business owners.

That being said, if you own or know of a fabulous little mom-owned website, etsy shop, ebay store, or whatever, please post the link here! Whenever people click on the Mom-Made pledge banner in my sidebar, it will bring them to this link, so let them know where they should shop! (And give me some more ideas!) :)

My husband is SUCH a softy!

I can sweet talk this man into just about anything. Except, maybe another baby. LOL.

We were at church tonight, and there was a stray kitten. (Can you sense where this is going?) Apparently, there had been three of them there last night. One got hit by a car, and we didn't see the other one tonight. Not sure what happened to it.

Anyway, there was a little girl holding the kitten, and the kids all stopped to pet it. I picked it up, and it immediately jumped onto my shoulder and just sat there... like a parrot! I walked down to the car, and hubby just said "No." That was it.

I then proceeded to tell him WHY we need an outdoor cat. We had mice last year, and it was AWFUL. (We live surrounded by a cow farm. Apparently, mice are quite abundant in cow pastures and surrounding areas. I wish someone had warned me.) Anyway, I swore I would never go through that again. BUT, our house is WAY too small to bring in a cat and a littler box. I couldn't live with it in here. But, outdoors would be another story.

After a few minutes of my trying to convince him, the kids begging and pleading with him, he finally said, "I hope it poops in your lap on the way home."

LOL. That's my husband. (And note: it did NOT poop in my lap!)

We get home, set out some food and water for "Killer" and then I found out WHY Gene didn't want to bring it home: HE feels bad about leaving it outside.

That's why I love him so much. He has the best heart. But, the cat will stay outside. It will be fed, and we put a nice warm little "house" out there for it, so the kitten will be just fine. Now he/she(?) shouldn't have a problem keeping the mice away.

So, let me introduce you to Killer:

Lucy just adores her kitty. When we got home, she ran and grabbed her potty. She put it by the back door so she could watch Killer eat:

She must have gone back there 100 times before and after dinner to look at her kitty.

I really hope this keeps the mice away. My aunt and uncle up the hill have several outdoor cats. I'm hoping Killer doesn't run away and go live with them and kill THEIR mice instead! :)

I love a bargain!... and other random stuff...

Yesterday, I took Ashley to a local thrift store. They have a bunch of kids' stuff, as well as jewelry, collectibles, and other junk treasures.

We made out like bandits! I got Ashley 3 new skirts, 2 pairs of pants (both new with tags - and each $2!!), 4 tops, a top for Lucy, a Spiderman outfit for Parker (that I must remember to take a picture of for you. It's SO cute!), and a Little Mermaid Barbie Doll (new in the box) as a Christmas present for Lucy. We got all that, and spent less than $30. It was awesome! I need to go back there before Christmas!

In other news, Ashley left us. For an entire week! I don't know what I'm going to do without her. She is such a help around the house. She's off with our Associate Pastor and his family in South Georgia. They're going to take her horseback riding, to the ocean, and a bunch of other stuff, so I'm certain she's in heaven... especially since she doesn't have to deal with 2 little boys and a little girl driving her up the wall! She left last night and she'll be back on Saturday. This week is going to feel like an eternity.

AND, I got to go back to church today! YIPPEE!!!!!!! Parker is 30 days old, so he's officially allowed "out and about." It was just SO nice to be back at church. I even taught my Sunday School class. I've missed it so much.

Ok, I think that's all for now. Enjoy your Sunday!

Parker Pictures!!

His clothes are finally starting to fit him! Yay! :)

Ok, ok, so I probably shouldn't enter any more contests after my really big win, but when I see something cute, I just can't help but enter! I still have Christmas presents that I need to get, right?! :)

Anyway, I saw that Momdot.com and One Step Ahead are having this fantastic giveaway for this awesome Stepping Stone Playmat.

I have always been a HUGE fan of One Step Ahead. Back when it was just me and Ashley (and I actually HAD money), their catalog was always the first place I went when Ash needed a new toy, or I needed some kind of baby-proofing or safety item for our apartment. I still love looking through their catalog and dreaming about owning everything inside. This mat would be perfect for Parker as he grows.

Thanks to MomDot and One Step Ahead for a great giveaway!!

And, for those interested, you can find more Parker pictures here.

Show & Tell Friday

Today, I am participating in Show and Tell Friday at Kelli's House.

This is my favorite Christmas present from last year:I adore this plate. Gene and I went up to Walmart one Saturday before Christmas. We decided to stop in a cute little jewelry/collectibles store on the way. In that store, I saw this plate and instantly fell in love. You see, the little girl on the plate looks EXACTLY like Lucy did last Christmas. I wish I had had a red dress to put Lucy in. I would have taken a shot identical to the one on the plate.

Anyway, I didn't even look at the cost of the plate, because I knew we couldn't afford it. Imagine my surprise when I opened a gift from Gene on Christmas morning, and THIS was inside.

I don't know how or when he got it, as Walmart is a 45 minute drive from our house, but he did, and it is something I will treasure forever.

OH MY GOSH!!!!!

Remember THIS post? The one where I found out that I was selected as one of the finalists for What's that Smell's HUGE Virtual Baby Shower Grand Prize?

Well, I got a phone call yesterday afternoon from Kim, and I WON!!!!!!!

I still don't think I've gotten over the shock of it yet. And, Kim, I apologize if I sounded like an idiot on the phone. I was a little flabbergasted with the news. I hope I at least sounded half-way coherent! Every time I thought about it yesterday, I cried. I still just can't believe it.

Ya'all can go here to see the announcement.

Shock. Complete and utter shock. Good thing we got my blood pressure under control. ;)

Feel free to follow me, and I'll return the favor! Hope to see you over there!

I lost my blog roll!!!!

It must have happened while I was working on the code. Of course, blogger has been ticking me off most of today, so they may have just come by and stolen it. Jerks.

Either way, I am heartbroken!! I had blogs in my roll that I frequent all the time, but I don't know all the links by heart. GRR!!!!

Danielle - I need your link. Also, could you send me Kelly's? I love her blog.

Chris - I need your blog link, too.

Cat, you also.

There are so many more, but ya'all are the ones I know will read this for sure.

I am beyond frustrated. I had some really great blogs in there, and now I can't find them. :( I'm all about the crafty blogs and the contests. LOL. Now how the heck do I find them?!

If you've got a great blog or know of one I should check out, leave it in a comment.

I think I need to go to bed. SIGH.

Wordless Wednesday: Our Precious Pumpkin

Yes, that is Parker. Yes, I took this photo. Yes, he is really on a pumpkin. No, he was never in any real danger. Hubby's hand is on his side, you just can't see it. The pumpkin weighed about 60 pounds. Parker weighed less than 6.

This is the photo we used for his birth announcements.

Now go check out MomDot's WW!

Pampers "10 second diaper change"

I got an email last week from Pampers telling me to try their new "Change and Go" diapers. I thought to myself, "What a cool idea!" Since it was so cheap to buy the trial pack, I went ahead and bought one.

It arrived at my house on Saturday. I used them all day Sunday and part of Monday. I HATED them. Absolutely, positively hated everything about them. So, they extended the life of the diaper for an extra couple of hours. It wasn't worth it. The wetness liner that you replace was really thin. Meaning, most of the moisture was still held inside the original diaper. Lucy barely even wet the liner at all. It wouldn't push forward far enough to "catch" where she went. And when she went #2. Oh.my.gosh. What a NIGHTMARE!

The diapers went on like pullups. (Which I HATE and think are the worst thing to ever happen to potty training.) The only thing is, they don't have easily rippable sides like pullups do. You've got to tear the suckers apart when the kids poop, and it makes it darn near impossible not to make a mess when you're doing so.

Great idea, Pampers. But it's got to have a LOT of improvement before I'd ever buy them again - or recommend them. Make them easy to put on, easy to take off, make the wetness liner store ALL of the moisture. Then, I'll try them again! Of course, I'm hoping by then Lucy is potty trained and the only diapers needed are for Parker!

(By the way - Pampers did not ask me to blog about trying them, or about the diapers themselves. I did this on my own. It's my blog, and I'm entitled to my opinion.)

My PSA for today

Get out there and rock the vote!

My biggest pet peeve is someone who complains and complains about the country, the president, what they're doing, and then they say that THEY DIDN'T VOTE. If you don't vote and make your voice heard, you have NO right to complain about squat.

I sent in my absentee ballot last week, since I can't leave the house with Parker. (That, and my grandma works at the Board of Elections. If I didn't vote, I'd be disowned.)

I had a VERY hard time voting in this election, only because I don't care for either of the candidate choices. McCain scares me to death, and all I can say about Obama is that "an Obama-nation would be an abomination." (I didn't make that up. I heard it somewhere.) BUT, I did vote, and that's what matters. Now I have every right to complain as much as I want if things don't go my way. ;)

So, let your voice be heard. Cast your ballot and make a difference.,

I am sitting here in tears!

I am absolutely, positively blown away, and I can't stop crying.

I just found out that I have been selected as a finalist for What's that Smell's HUGE Virtual Baby Shower Grand Prize.

What an honor to be selected for this!

I really am so blown away. This would help us out so much, and I could, in turn, help so many others out with this, too.

Thank you to Accidental Mommies and each of the sponsors. Even if I don't win, I am so honored to even have been selected as a finalist. I can't tell you what that alone means to me.

Best of luck to each one of the finalists!

Check out this frog costume!

I don't think I've ever mentioned it on this blog, but Lucy LOVES frogs. If you read my other blog, you know that she does not believe that a frog says "ribbit." In her little mind, a frog says "Fricky, Fricky, Fricky." How she came up with that, I will never know, but it truly is the most adorable thing ever to see her hop around the house yelling "Fricky, fricky, fricky!" at the top of her lungs.

Anyway, I was browsing through the blogs that I read and I came across a contest for this frog costume. Lucy would go crazy if she opened the package and this was inside!

I'd love to win this one, just to see the look on her face. It really is adorable!

Tropical Tree Frog Costume GIVEAWAY!!!! - Don't miss your chance to enter! (I'm hoping that karma lets me win since I'm telling you all to enter! LOL!)

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!

We didn't make the finals. :(

First of all, I want to thank each and every one of you that voted for Jace's picture in Pho for 5's contest.

Unfortunately, we were not one of the finalists. We're out of the contest. :( Honestly? I don't quite get it. I thought we had a ton of votes. And, there were others that I thought would definitely be in the finals as well. But, I'm not running the contest, so I don't know how the finalists were chosen.

Thank you, again, to each of you who took the time to vote. I appreciate the effort.
